- My name is Bob Alexander and I have been working in the test prep industry for almost two decades. I have developed a finely tuned program, with a proven track record that is ready to be used by teachers and students nationwide.
- This copyrighted, tiered approach to test prep will focus on a child's problem areas and attack them with full force, for guaranteed results. The roots of my approach to test prep began when I served as a consultant for ETS, the publisher of the SAT, and wrote test questions.
- In 1991, I joined the nation’s largest test prep company as a director, where I began learning the best and the worst of what test preparation could and should be. My graduate work in curriculum development indicated that the objectives of test preparation were laudable, but the materials and delivery system needed to be improved. I began my own company with a unique and innovative approach.
- In 1995, I was hired by several school districts to do SAT training for teachers and to develop an SAT course for use in their classrooms. That led to other districts hiring me to develop ACT materials. Finally, I developed programs to help elementary through high school students prepare for state competency tests. Elementary school teachers have used all of these materials successfully in classrooms.
- More importantly, since 1997 I’ve used these programs to conduct my own courses and provide individual tutoring. This hands-on experience with thousands of students has provided me with the insight to finely tune my approach and materials. My programs have had exceptional results when used by trained instructors. My first SAT course resulted in students raising their scores by an average of 180 points. The ACT program has raised scores an average of 4 to 5 points. The courses have proven themselves with students of all ethnic groups and economic levels.
- I have been using my materials personally with students for more than 12 years. I expect an SAT student who practices these strategies to gain multiple points in both math and reading. Test prep is not rehashing the materials provided by teachers in today’s typical classroom. It is teaching students how to use what they already know as required by the SAT and other tests. They are all reasoning tests that require students to think and approach math and reading in a certain way, a way that is defined by the test makers themselves. Solid test preparation is giving students the analytical skills required by the test writers so that the students can get the scores they deserve.
